Briyani Amal Birthday
Salam readers,
I would really like to apologize once more for the lack of updates. No wait, not 'lack'. I am sorry for the 'absence' of updates. Things have been busy and sometimes i think i would rather prefer doing a "Vlog" (vidoe blog) rather than a blog!
So on Saturday, i joined a few of Madrasah Al'irsyad's alumnis in helping with the preparation of the Briyani Amal and Maulud celebrations. Upon arriving in Irsyad, i was straight away led to the "big kitchen". There i was entasked to help with the cutting of vegetables. I was very glad to know that i was not needed to peel the onions. I am very sure that if i were to peel onions for a full 5 minutes, my face would have resembled that of a person who had just watched a hindustan movie! Now we would not want that to happen now would we?
Next on the highlight menu was of course the cooking of lambs ( wait, or was it sheeps?). Sighs. i should use the word "Shleeps" ( sheeps + lambs) then. But there was a catch, before we can cook the shleeps, we must first wash them up. Before washing them up, we must first seperate them into groups of 250 shleeps each in a big pot. Hold on, i should rephrased the previous sentence. "........into groups of 250 blood-covered-oozing shleeps." Trust me, me, fathi, hadi nuri, baihaqi, jafni and even Mr Muneer should have been invited to the hit series on Discovery channel, "Dirty Jobs With Peter Schemeichel". I rather face the onions. But, we held on. Barely.
Before reading this paragraph, i strongly advice that you read this in the brightest of room and the liviest of environment. Please skip this paragraph if you are faint hearted in nature. Nah dont worry i am exaggerating, but for the first time in New Irsyad i think me and my friends have experienced the unnatural! Well basically to cut it short, the lifts at the MUIS building really played a fool of us for a full hour ( 2am-3.30am). Well we deserved it actually since we were talking about ghost stories. So.......
(To be continued tomorrow) ;p
